Woolly Diversions

I seem to be doing quite a bit of needle felting just lately - it is good fun and quick to do - great for a diversion from other things. A pleasant way to procrastinate!

Susie! I have started! I spent part of the day at the Hand Spinners and Weaver's shop, but the rest of the day was spent Felting. Oh what fun.Went to Birgitte Krag Hansen's site and her Blog is great, also photo galleries. I LOVE your latest woollies. So cute. I can really believe that it is an Addictive craft. I am making a sort-of pixie...Can't wait to see what you do next!

Good for you Judy! Watch the fingers.................I thought I might try a brushtail possum or a Tasmanian Devil next, but I'd like to do a fox as well. I need to dye some of my white wool first, though. But I really need to do some of the pressing things first, then I can play!

Susie...your little creations are precious. I have loads of the wool and plenty of needles and all the supplies but have not attempted to amke critters yet. I did do some needle felting on a wool bag and found it VERY relaxing!

Love,
Nita

Thanks Nita - doing this kind of thing is about the closest I get to meditating - I enter a quite Zen-like state when I'm prodding away with that little needle.......and then I miss and hit my finger.....Youch!
Only a small step from embellishing a bag to making something 3D. The piece of foam is important, though, otherwise you end up with lots of little holes in your thigh!
Cheers, Susie

Susie,
Adorable little creatures! You're right though, you need other colors...lol. Etsy has people that sell wool roving in every conceivable color, you should give them a try! Just remember, these little guys are doing a BIG job...they are recharging you! Our creativity needs to be played with too, or it gets dull and boring. So, have fun, for pete's sake! lol
